Day by day
Your course overview
Please note that your training ends at 4:00 PM each day, after which we transfer you back to your hotel.
Day 1
Check-in, get your gear, get to know the basics
On day one, we practice away from the lifts so you can get a feel for balancing in ski boots and handling the equipment at your own pace, and make your first attempts at gliding.
Our team will be ready to welcome you in Gulmarg. Once you check into your hotel, we will take you to Kashmir Ski & Snowboarding School's equipment center. Our technicians will custom-fit your ski equipment to your height, weight, boot size, and ability to ensure your comfort and safety.
You'll then get a briefing on the basics of skiing, mountain safety, equipment control, and slope etiquette.
In the afternoon, you will do your first practice on the beginner slope. Practice with your gear before your first glide. Practice walking in ski boots, move freely on skis, and get your balance right.

During the morning session, your instructor will focus on building long snowplow turns, prioritizing proper body posture, balance, edging, and weight distribution. With these drills, you'll get more control and confidence as you make smooth, consistent turns.
In the afternoon, you'll practice the same techniques on beginner terrain, but at slightly faster speeds.

You'll also learn how to change your skiing style on different snow conditions and gradients.
In the afternoon, you'll start practicing parallel skiing, putting your skis closer together for the first time. Your instructor will help you develop rhythm, balance, and smooth turn transitions.
You'll feel more comfortable skiing steeper beginner slopes by the end of Day 4, and you'll start switching from snowplow to parallel turns.
